First Dance

Everyone stops, all eyes on you, smiles all around but the only person you are looking at is the one you are dancing with.

A friend of my brother's, and mine, were married this weekend at his parents home near Washington on the Brazos. They own the oldest brick house in the state of Texas and it, and the land surrounding it, is breath taking. As you walk through the house you end up going out the back door where a few cottages sit in their backyard. The backyard is hundreds of acres lined by white picket fences, rolling hills of green grass and the biggest oak trees Texas has to offer. The white chairs were lined, in rows, infront of the bright blue water filled swimming pool facing the largest oak tree. White rose pedals flooded the isle, a lovely string quartet played in the back ground, the sun beating down, a light breeze filled the air as we all looked on as they became husband and wife.

The reception followed at Washington on the Brazos state park. A beautiful indoor/outdoor reception full of food, drinks, dancing, and happy people. The bride and groom left with a shower of bells ringing in behind them.

Food: amazing! Formal seating, buffet style, with servers at each table.
Drink: everything
Music: DJ (tips on DJ's... they only play what the bride and groom tell them to so if you request a song and the DJ gives you some strange answer like "I do not have that" he means that the couple does not want that played at their wedding.)

We had so much fun! My family was there and we are dancing fools. I met most of the groomsman my freshman year in college. I am so glad that we have all become such great friends. Our families get along and that makes for good times when we are all together.... weddings, showers, parties, our children's birthday parties, etc. It is always a pleasure being able to spend time with everyone..... whose next boys???
