My great grandmother (Mamo) passed away on July 6th at 5:33pm. She went into that "deep sleep" on Thursday the 1st, opened her eyes at 5:24pm, looked right at me (I then called my parents into the room), we all three told her that we were fine- we would take care of each other- and that she could finally GO HOME to the Lord, she then closed her eyes and took her last breath. It was as if she needed us to tell her one time that we would all be okay and that it was fine for her to go home. For the last year she became confused on where her home was. For the last 40+ years her home had been in Houston Texas. My parents, brother and I moved into her home over 24 years ago. She took care of us and we took care of her. While the last year, really 8 months prior to her death, were difficult for us... it hurt my heart more for her. She thought we were trying to keep her from her home. Mamo continually stated... Please just take me home OR Why won't you let me go home. My mother constantly had tears in her eyes, my dad and I were the strong ones, & my brother just did want to deal with it. There is absoluetly no way for me to explain how the last 3 years of her life, and ours, have been but those that know me well know what we went through.

Mamo was the one that was meant to live forever... she was born in 1911, she had turned 99 in May 2010, she was the oldest daughter of 13 siblings, she watched her parents- brothers & sisters- nieces & nephews- husband- children and grandchildren die before her, she lived through: the sinking of the Titantic, the roaring 20's, the great depression, Kennedy being shot, 20+ presidents, she watched man land on the moon, she went from living in a one bedroom home with her family in Mississippi to a two story 4 bedroom house in Texas, she had no tv- black and white tv- colored tv, she worked in cotton fields, sewed many peoples clothing, had 3 children- 8 grandchildren- 8 great grandchildren- 4 great great grandchilren... she experienced life. I love and miss her every single day and I know that the "pain" will get better but I will always remember her and everyTHING that she did for me.

2. I now have a roommate. The lovely Sarah. It is fun, we have a great time, she is a Godly woman, and I am glad that she came into my life. Shout Out to Sarah :)

3. I am now a Kindergarten teacher. I have 21 students, love them, it is challenging, it is fun, it is stressful, it is demanding, and I love it.

4. I am still working in my office. I love what I do and I did not want to give it up.

I am still doing wedding/event planning and one of my friends is getting married in February. Her bachelorette party is next weekend and I am sure that I will have stories.... or at least good pictures.

Still living life to the fullest, tired a lot these days, but it is all worth it.

I hope that all of you have a FaBuLoUs weekend!Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-49130384965559890142010-09-03T14:22:00.000-07:002010-09-03T14:36:11.200-07:00I know I knowI know it has been FOREVER since I have blogged and I am sorry. God always brings us through them. I am going through one now. My great grandmother is 99 years old. She has lived with us/us with her for over 24 years. She has helped to raise my brother and I. She has been a parent, grandparent, aunt, friend, and so much more. She has recently declined no necessarily in her health but in life. Her body is tired and is shutting down. This is so hard to watch, however we are right by her side. We have care takers, nurses and doctors that come everyday and weekly. She has the best care that we can find. We are with her all of the time. I know the end is nearing and I know that she has lived a long life and I know that she is going to a better place and I know that the Lord will bring me through this season BUT it is still hard.

Thank you to all of my friends for the prayers.... they mean more than you will know.Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-43937134839401633752010-06-02T08:20:00.000-07:002010-06-02T08:58:35.167-07:00"Kidnapped"<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEindlAjvv7hZJhdFqRB4VaGkc5O-Ug-4O6AxtxQDs7I2rKQ1ulLZ6rgu3PvjMnkhJ5QKVoI1p-cJm7FF-yfxCYy3bQch-QlQ0Nk31vxG5_IgSVTf0BDxkVAvXtDpDvTEHwfVRJeKFa29xM/s320/DSTD5.10.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478203236221562898" />

I get a phone call on Friday from one of my very best friends... Samantha (aka Baby Hank's Mom). I answer, tell her that I will have to call her back, she says ok but I just wanted you to know that I am kidnapping you on Sunday & then she hangs up.

When I called her back she said that I needed a break/mini-vacation & that she would not take no for an answer. I agreed, because it is way easier to go along with what she says... trust me ;)I've known the girl for 10 years AND besides, I really did need a get-a-way.

So Sunday after church we all met back at my house, loaded my Tahoe and headed to New Braunfels. Now I went to school at Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State) and I LOVE to float the river! We met her husband, Derric's, best friend there. We met some other friends for dinner on Sunday night, woke up Monday and floated the Comal twice. So relaxing and fun. The first float was calm but the second time around we had plenty of people on the river with us. At one point a band had set up by the water... good times!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD5fbUI88ch-mkGhPibic9tDjMQIl6QaoxIDGBkoRWnNhRqNeVrF75SdUz70YkebqQFbM7oGqwsG0AJ8RoN2CiLdoJh90AxtZ-Ic1zAI5F6BAp1NsBWLmLOUuEx9eXbrgNHxUxGJqcZ_U/s320/P5310062.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478204110095159698" />

***Side note: Out of all of the times I have floated that river, I do not recall losing anything. So of course the first time down the shoot I lose my sunglasses and get stuck to the left (if you have floated the Comal you know what I am talking about).

After Danny & I caught up to Samantha and Derric we go through a little mini rapid. Samantha yells ahead to me, "Don't forget to pick up your butt." I stated that this was not my first rodeo and went on. Pretty sure you can guess what happened next... I didn't lift up far enough and now I have a HUGE bruise on my bottom... OUCH!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOjpVR-HmnK1rJv0ungBlBbwEeC8KYf-p1zEu_NhMhM9eXtg4ZySradX_HsL0e35wQ6vxhouFxPGenwP8bW-wN8pm1q9yiz89o9atn6KbbdJ7KmdRwDHcbEtycS5vx4TCucQoWA77aQFY/s320/P5300029.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478203494221853650" />

After all was said and done we had a blast. Hank went with us but he did not float. Samantha's mom came up for the day to watch him for us... thank you Ms. Donna! Needless to say this was a much different river trip than I have ever taken and to be perfectly honest I loved it. We are all growing up, getting older, getting married and having babies... I like the "new" way we float.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 202px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYdlQ_LjF11axX2sPEPYkHgwJrIyJlBKJm8wGpRmRgx4YY2RwS8mGFJWVCAxv-Ye7qM7QNHBu7R9Uv6PFNhDj8prJQbSKXLdYUW9m3WKEN2IVX54lz_XJU4FtE2XF2pXzhnyul01XQTio/s320/t&sam5.10.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478204455756018162" />

Thanks Samantha... My father served in the military as a marine and I have many other friends that are serving in our military today. I say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of them. You all have laid your life on the line today so that I can have a tomorrow. God thank you so much for loving us, for protecting us and for sacrificing your son for us. You provide an amazing love that I am ever so grateful for.

So in celebration of the day of remembrance... when men and women laid their lives down for us remember, the one that laid His life down for ours eternally.... Jesus Christ.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." Psalm 33:12

Thank you God, for being the Lord of our nation.Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-88132454202961031072010-05-24T13:41:00.001-07:002010-05-25T08:05:10.673-07:00Things I have learned but continue to forget that I already know...1. That when you first get a cup of coffee/tea it is hot.

2. That many of my friends have blogs and I know they are entertaining.

3. Monday thru Friday my alarm will go off and I will be mad about it.

4. Everyday I get older but still feel young.

5. That God is EvErYwHeRe and has His hand in EvErYtHiNg!

6. That I have weak ankles.

7. That I am not a size 2.

8. That I can no longer eat what I want because the removal of my gal bladder forbids it.

9. That I get tired everyday around 3pm.

10. All of the reasons why I want to get a dog and forget why I can not...... I do not have time and it would be sooooo neglected.

11. Shorts are not my friend.

12. That I can yell at the TV all I want... the characters will not talk back and it will not change the outcome of the show.

There are many others but I will leave you with that.Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-69696902339946867572010-05-21T12:36:00.000-07:002010-05-25T08:08:37.726-07:00correctionCorrection to my friend Sarah's blog....

http://onlyroomforone.tumblr.com/

She is amazing... you have to check it out!Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-12359168660548361442010-05-17T13:30:00.000-07:002010-05-17T14:33:15.269-07:00All You Need Is Love...Simple words with a not so simple meaning or is it? All you need is love. Great song sang best, in my opinion, by The Beatles. This song pops up in movies, tv shows, and in my head all of the time. There are those songs that you wish were not stuck in your head but this is not one of mine. I love this song. Speaking of love, there are many different forms of the word L-O-V-E.

Friend love, Love for family, Love for my friends children, Love for a pet, Love for people, Love for a husband or a wife, and then there is the most important kind of love... the love for Jesus.

The love that I have for my parents and brother is insane. Not to get sad on you but the thought of one of them dying causes me to tear up instantly. I would lay my life down for one of them and not think twice about it. The other day I thought about that love... that is the same love that God has for us. WOW! I do not know why I had never put that connection together, probably because I do not like to think about my parents or my brother dying so I quickly get that thought out of my head. This time I pondered... if my love is that great I cannot imagine the love that God feels for us. It is way bigger than how I feel about my parents and brother.

Love is one of the most precious gifts that can be given. To be loved, to hear those words, to say those words. They wrap around you like a towel right out of the dryer :) What an amazing feeling!

As God is sending me change-ups in my life, I remember that He loves me. That is enough to put a smile on my face, step up to the plate and hit those change-ups.

So L-O-V-E... what do you think about it? Easy to say and mean? Easy to do? Easy to be loved? It is by the Lord. What an amazingly wonderful love He has for us.

Speaking of love, the below site is my friend SARAH'S blog. She is a courageous, powerful, sweet, funny, good time, Godly woman and I would love for you to check out her blog IF for no other reason than... I love her :)

Sarah's Blog http://solongsarah.tumblr.com/Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-12945916124196133702010-05-11T07:55:00.000-07:002010-05-25T08:07:15.157-07:00ClassyI am on a chandelier kick these days. You can use them in your homes and at your wedding. My "kick" started when I purchased my home. My great grandparents had a chandelier that hung in their formal dining room. I wanted it to hang in mine. This started a downward spiral of me wanting them in my bedroom and bathroom. The one in my bathroom has not been hung but the three in my bedroom have.

Brides, chandeliers give your wedding a classic/dramatic touch. You can hang crystals or pearls from them. You can also have them painted colors to go with your theme. I went to a wedding that had tons of them hanging from the ceiling... this added to the already classic look for the wedding. So ladies, if this is the look you are going for... think about it. I never really understood that because God invented marriage. He wants us to marry. Well this weekend it finally happened to me... not in the bad Oh my goodness, I cannot believe he is getting married, but the fact that one of my best guy friends from college would be walking down the isle to marry such a fabulous woman. Those that know him knew that he would be emotional and cry but I really don't think we knew how much. I mean Dawid (yes that is spelled correctly) he could not stay on the bus with all of the guys because he would tear up. Now I love this guy. We made tons of great memories in college and I can say with full confidence that his bride, Jenna, is the female version of him... crazy! haha

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFNA2G1dvSffCAj8G1BChQ9uadJxvddwjb5dzKZytgXbGBnAdXxiBewC37zwP4VuBFtobTOwv3blGCNAlajMUk5cSiwkh13N74wfIRJZsJFmFTnO8GEABtB8IuY5cwdCVzhgvnlX9gqmQ/s320/P5010073.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467147350159862226" />
(Dawid, me, Jason)

This was an out of town wedding. We all got there on Friday night, had a late night with the groom, had a fantastic time at the wedding and then spent Sunday driving home. We use to all live within 5 minutes of each other.... oh so sad now. It was wonderful seeing faces that I have not seen since college. I forget how much fun we use to have, and still continue to have with each other.

So here are the details:

Wedding: Catholic, good looking bridal party, emotional for the bride and groom, jump in our cars and head to the reception.

Reception: at the Opera House in Columbus Texas, on the second floor, big stage, live band, a dj, great food and drinks, tons of dancing and picture taking. The best way to sum up the reception is by saying two things.

1. We ended the night with Shout playing in the back ground while shaking champagne bottles and dancing under it coming down on us.
2. The bride and groom left the reception riding a two person bicycle. Now that is the best exit I have ever seen!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCBKd4satcSvrat-pN3esz5aJccuaX3sDkD5mEs5GHrIHWkepMwhzMueKeEH7NBiG92wa4WDAM9aHMsBI5CPKw0gCJv2KQ68dx8Zq0hqKXUclbNi_RkLNQhqsU9sZeiTGprirHf2_iq-Y/s320/P5010190.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467146943319955090" />

We definitely made memories this weekend. Last year was 80's prom and this year was SingleLife's Got Talent. It was fun & I have not laughed that hard in a long time. We had great talent, however in between the acts we had two guys perform their many hidden talents. The backyard is hundreds of acres lined by white picket fences, rolling hills of green grass and the biggest oak trees Texas has to offer. The white chairs were lined, in rows, infront of the bright blue water filled swimming pool facing the largest oak tree. White rose pedals flooded the isle, a lovely string quartet played in the back ground, the sun beating down, a light breeze filled the air as we all looked on as they became husband and wife.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVsIo-PmlWy_wPvtccEIRSDCqA8q19vr6XZCP1Py5548OumDCEM7I4uqN-gnELPmAXXFHT1umE1wCd9k1Niz_xbjed1HJzDVWoe2-ewzjrj9zZoVikAzPzA7MVGzu6kZZLg14tlC5g6JQ/s320/IMG_1640.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459711194342557522" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVvoSqWNE_C48_sYvPAa6qTR2yPaWutCGblMv5hUcMLvfMyvxFcp3tPULvJcdpiyJcT3lIT-0i6sS7mxeR0FtVHD5Znc-aGVuC2HdXcV4WQLnJHRJQX-7Bk5v0fIMcHbG3Tw6ZrvjgweI/s320/IMG_1648.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459711656873310274" />

The reception followed at Washington on the Brazos state park. A beautiful indoor/outdoor reception full of food, drinks, dancing, and happy people. The bride and groom left with a shower of bells ringing in behind them.

Food: amazing! Formal seating, buffet style, with servers at each table.
Drink: everything
Music: DJ (tips on DJ's... they only play what the bride and groom tell them to so if you request a song and the DJ gives you some strange answer like "I do not have that" he means that the couple does not want that played at their wedding.)

We had so much fun! My family was there and we are dancing fools. I met most of the groomsman my freshman year in college. I am so glad that we have all become such great friends. Our families get along and that makes for good times when we are all together.... weddings, showers, parties, our children's birthday parties, etc. It is always a pleasure being able to spend time with everyone..... whose next boys???

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 244px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLsOol_YWbY4k6aMUL906LOmRnKfma3Ozv46kzmJZQ3u5H4ZCZXQknYEe7AnLzu8b1MUVZcyi_xvdvXsBz0i_99Kdu7qpdSARGIoRaM9t-Kdy2S6a3C23jF0_HBzPcNoSX7LiysOYXcO4/s320/IMG_1658.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459711877810356258" />Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-53311287556231796562010-04-09T07:30:00.000-07:002010-05-25T08:09:57.230-07:00People Helping People<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIbxEgXoStMqqa5jKHfLSiLZwX71Gdeb1u9h0RVhwPOkh79bR6l6zocj0Wwj8dyY71yk5Ym3o0pVagkBQtdusBqo_Is10l1G6KTKo3sQ2q2kx2Q4FlTX0p0IdhAgEv6DP3ki8gPbp3Nx8/s320/P3010011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458147248483496802" />

(Heather, Jonathan, Trista, Russell)

That is what my friend Russell always says and I always laugh until last night... he didn't say it but there were people helping people in my life.

Strange how God brings things to us. When we least expect it, during the most unwanted time. I say this as if God will ask me if this is a good time to turn my world upside down, at any given moment. We all know that will never happen. He brings things to me at His timing, not mine. If he did, pretty sure I would be selfish and say, "Please leave a message at the beep." We never want "bad" things to happen, but they do. Or better yet, strange things.

My point of all of this is to help others. We do not know what is going on in each other's lives but God does. He gives us the ability to comfort, support and help each other on a daily basis so.... do it!

After last night I am sure that I will laugh at Russell's People Helping People comment but I will take a moment to think about it as well.

*Wedding this weekend. Will let you know how it goes :)Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-7591989976928643302010-03-30T08:38:00.000-07:002010-05-25T08:10:26.837-07:00Oh Yeah, Weddings...So as I sit here I realize that the purpose of this blog is to give helpful hints, stories, and hopefully useful information about weddings. I have not been doing much of that HOWEVER with my wedding season picking up, I figure I need to jump on it and post some thoughts.

I am attending a wedding next weekend. (this is a treat for me because I do not attend many, I am usually the behind the scenes person). One of my brother's friends from college is "tying the knot" at a beautiful venue called Washington on the Brazos. This will be a formal wedding and I am very excited to go. I just wanted to give a tip to all guests... when replying to the invitation you must reply as follows. IF the invitation includes your name and guest, you may take a guest with you to the wedding. IF it only has your name you can only respond with one, you cannot add a guest. Also, you may not show up with a guest that you did not RSVP for. This will ultimately get the bride all worked up especially if there is assigned seating.

Weddings are a number game. The bride has worked very hard on her wedding. She has it down to the dollar amount for the number of people that have RSVP'd. Please be courteous and respectful of the couples wishes. If you were the only name on the invitation then you are the only one being asked to attend.

Weddings are expensive. If you are not married OR a planner, you do not have the concept of the money situation and that is okay. Just be respectful of the invitation.

Hopefully this will help all of you... especially brides!Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-55556611817904644272010-03-25T13:02:00.000-07:002010-03-25T13:44:24.541-07:00OH the days.....<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtuxLhd1L2vQRdwGTtHLTFhdpnE_poBMSbe2o5tI10N7Fpo-0YBBZ44P14eQD5uwIHZa1pdf1agZsmyHngVMxuuRjczxWdywRx8_ZXUkVZCznedSmfdRu0T2G8LYlZrr-F411rL-k4MBw/s320/P3190121.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452669090176722610" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiseW_vikcbbCS5-3oyCgM1aVL4uCVXWSVPNeFO3mjbxBg01AINdpCaIQIr677IO6IUC4wOwQ54f9GxUhfWnQyYbIHmynxnFRb8ie2Vj9sWFWsbMcqgX_ZiLJmlR4ZQUwS_NhoVbuhaM7o/s320/P3180029.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452668877300654130" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvCY5kEgj_7CvtP3bsY-38LuhVqo0UKGZvTSOZoV-letv94Dj-m7K6o7dMyffkX86MHk-xSc_nvZtQZBSUnyOgZHxmW0BXU4dOSVmGAw-C-YvhyphenhyphenXxoDJ7L9TN72Xsc7iXc4YjHSvd3W9k/s320/P3180017.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452668542101380546" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvgl53c8T6bynUf-w267QCu7dLjAuz-l3-jGi1lkPMEF4xGaPMasAwrPqOGbBehIpdjzkKEMpZOtvF2LTSahpPeZflkY0YfZAcVLtMFfwXr_f33swM9-9DbMQiL_ylyrrhZnlmjIv73wg/s320/P3180001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452668131133753842" />
Lately I have realized just hold "old" I am getting. For example, I require much more sleep now than I use to. I mean if I am not in bed by 10pm I'm mad about it. What is the deal?!?!?!?!? I am only 28.

Last week I was able to go and visit a great friend of mine from college... one of my best to be exact. She now lives, with her husband, in beautiful Savannah. My grandparents have lived their for 24 years and I love it. Other than being beautiful they really know how to "do" St. Patrick's Day. This was the second year that I went to visit Lauren and Jeff for this holiday. It just so happens to fall on Spring Break so it makes me feel like we were back in college. So fun! Lauren & I consider ourselves experts at parading. For example, we know that you have to get down to the parade route super early, bring ice chests, beverages and food to last about 6 hours, & meet nice people. We definitely have this down. Last year, Lauren & I, met two nice couples. We were lucky enough to see this again this year. Yes, we sit at the same place every year... Bull & Bay. Lauren's husband, Jeff, is an ARMY Ranger and he marches in the parade. What they do in Georgia is all the ladies put on RED lipstick and kiss the men in the parade... especially the soldiers :) I do not have pictures from this year of it because I took video. We had a blast! After the parade, a few of Jeff's friends live on River Street. (It is basically Main Street in Downtown Houston Texas). GREAT location. There we played games, talked, danced, just had a grand ole time. The day after St. Patty's Day Jeff and I had to wake up early to take Lauren's brother Brian to the airport... 4 am to be exact. Not Fun! All in all it was a WoNdErFuL week...Thank you Lauren & Jeff for such a great visit!Party of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-47080353170087817272010-03-16T13:26:00.000-07:002010-05-25T08:10:48.571-07:00Reynold's Wedding<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghtyX0NP-y7XEGnHuRd7xIcRNLd6Tbg2m343u3_yddGY_QUq95fSoYF24MU673jL_2ZwS7OF5LuE21Bmhuy-tLkqi136XqfitXQDdqcTJ0XGMiT417jIcwOjSP59UMXpAQNDUOkS7lJl4/s320/P3140005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5449331589671832162" />
Kyle & Caroline's wedding was beautiful. The bride was goregous and the groom had tears in his eyes. The flowers turned out to be perfect & the bride loved them... the most important thing. Congratulations to the Reynold's, you are an amazing couple and I look forward to what the Lord has planned for your life together. (In the picture are a few of the guests & my friends). Even though I do not have many people reading this blog at the current moment WHICH I am ok with since I am still new at this and need more practice. Ok, moving on... Last Thursday I had surgery. I had to have my gal bladder removed, not fun. They were going to only make one incision then they had to make two, my abdominal muscles had to be cut, a little bit of pain, super sore, now I am up and going but I am not sure for how long. I am sure that I will crash at some point today. Today is my first day to really move around... we will see what happens.

Two of my sweet friends will be saying I DO this Saturday. This is her blog spot(http://carolineesmith.blogspot.com/). She and her fiance brought over the rest of the vases... you see, I am doing their flowers for the reception and church. So excited to help them on what is going to be a FaBuLoUs day! So a little secret, I did not tell many people that I was going to have surgery including the bride so she was like absolutely not, you are not doing my flowers. I assured her that I would be able to do them... so I am. I love doing this for others. One less thing she will have to worry about because she knows that I will not do anything ugly, ha ha.

Also, a friend of mine just made the move to Nashville to be a high school pastor. You can follow him at http://www.shannonself.com/ He is a great guy and I can not wait to see what the Lord has instore for him.

So that is about it for today. Bridal tip: your planner can not make the rain go away but they can work with it. Relax brides, it is your day and it will be wonderful!

Party of OneParty of Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16057445709168043911noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6550717605326897813.post-162117055193286162010-03-03T09:30:00.000-08:002010-05-25T08:12:07.280-07:00First Post<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDl4qLKeXQbpzCIfWDZBKyOBzcQongFPOlYRtMNvg94OKojQM2lKE3Ul9xrAFeehItuhK3D3-Ul9XwTcVuP0Lr9mMTv5yg26ClDLiM2N0dsYbIGdw4IwmpkGzNLp4RY1jK5Glu59nuYSk/s320/P2216041.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444466363754686226" />
People have told me to start a blog but I never thought it would be a good idea... until now. I started helping to plan weddings over 5 years ago. A friend came to me and said, "You are organized and you do not have a problem being the 'bad guy' so will you be my day of person?" And that is where is all began. I have helped friends the day of and many days leading up to it. I also started planning birthday parties, showers, corporate events, etc. I really love doing it. There is just something about running around like crazy, making sure all is well with the decor, food, band, bride, in-laws, everything that just makes it all worth it when the last song is played. I will guarantee you that every post will not be about a wedding. I have many events that have happened in my life and they are all entertaining.

This blog will be for pure entertainment pleasure and I will slip in helpful tips and great vendors whenever I can :)

I recently did a wedding and the photographer was AMAZING! She told me that I really needed a blog. After talking about it to one of my good friends, she got me on board. SOOO here I am. Weddings...
